Tell us a bit about yourself, where your from, how you got here etc.

I started to train 18 years ago at 14 years old. I was a little guy, about 124 lbs and 5’4’’. At this time, i practiced sports as baseball, hockey, karate, snowboarding but no sports gives me the adrenalin and the vibes that i was looking for. In summer 1994, a gym opened in my city. A very little gym, 5000 feet square (Schwarzenegger style conditioning center !). This is where i met my first trainer , which introduced me to bodybuilding shows 21 months later and train me for the last 17 years until he retired from the bodybuilding industry. My motivation was enormous. I appreciate the feeling as onstage and back stage. Then, after this first show, i dedicated my life to this industry and started to compete every year from 15 years old until 21. The winning strike makes me reach the top of young bodybuilder in the industry at the end of 90’s. I did over 12 shows between 15 and 21 years old;

  • First show i finish 3rd (1995)
  • Second show 2nd (1996)
  • And then…1st all the way ! (you can read all my athletic side on my web site at www.francoisbeauregard.com )

I decided to retire at 21 years old (too much drugs). Do i did a mistake or not ? I don’t know. So, i retired from 2001 until 2007, just after two overall winning at regional and provincial show for FCPAQ in 2001. It allows me to really reflect about my mission in this fitness and bodybuilding world. In 2007, when i made a come back, my philosophy was really different. I wanted to change the sports and the industry. Be a role model for every “NATURAL” athlete, and promoting health over the population. I found a mission bigger than just training and competing. Today this is my motivation !

2011 will be a big year for me. First, my career is Financial Planner and financial security advisor, so my schedule is really important and must be respected closely. Second, i will have a second daughter in June. I judge over 5 IDFA shows in Quebec, and i’m preparing for 5 shows between July and December ; IDFA International and Pro Universe, Muscle Mania Canada and Universe and Local show ; Physique Quebec Tested here in Quebec.

I have a website, www.francoisbeauregard.com, where you can find a lots of informations about training (as my training plan), nutrition (as my personnal nutritional plan) and motivation, i’m also really involved in the fitness industry as judge for IDFA (www.idfa.ca) and SAF (www.seriousaboutfitness.com), i’m writer “Beauregard Blast” for www.seriousaboutmuscle.com and the owners of FB Fitness inc (coaching, motivational speaker, body-sculpting solution on web, FB Fitness online store for high quality natural supplements and more). This is my passion !

What does your supplementation plan look like ?

Supplementation is a big part of your nutrition plan. Unfortunately, in 2011 you can’t find everything in your food due to transformation, pollution, commercialization and more. So you have to complete very well you nutritional plan with a high quality of supplement if you want to get maximum result.

In my case, in the morning i takea good quality

  1. multivitamin without iron
  2. vitamin D
  3. T-Andro as natural testosterone booster

1 hours before my training :
IGF from ATP Laboratries – Alpha-GPC, A precursor of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Among athletes it has been shown that Alpha-GPC increases endurance and performance. Acetylcholine is a major neurotransmitter involved in muscular contraction. The increase in concentrations of this neurotransmitter results in an increase in muscle contraction ability and duration. The ability to recruit fast twitch muscle fibres is also increased by an increase in acetylcholine.

During workout :
IBCAA from ATP Laboratories : Instantly dissolving branched-chain amino acids
  1. Anti-catabolic agent
  2. Enhances recovery
  3. Increases endurance
  4. Increases muscle mass
  5. Leucine

This amino acid contributes greatly to protein assimilation, and particularly to protein synthesis. The latter process refers to the body’s production of the proteins it requires, taking into account those consumed through one’s diet as well as those recycled every day. The process is one part of the protein renewal cycle.
Isoleucine participates in energy production, improves endurance, and is a prime energy source for the muscles. It is required for the production of hemoglobin. Moreover, it stabilizes and regulates blood glucose levels.
Valine contributes to energy production. It is quickly assimilated and distributed to the muscles, thus improving post-exertion recovery time. This genuine stimulant plays an important part in ensuring that the nervous system works properly, as well as promoting mental alertness and muscular coordination. It also aids tissue repair.

As post workout meal i mixed :
High quality whey protein (XPN)
IBCAA from ATP Laboratories (www.fbfitnessonlinestore.com)
Micronised Glutamine; Glutamine has been linked to protein synthesis by preventing muscle to be catabolized, it helps maintain cell volume and hydration, replenish glutamine levels during workout, helps produce GH, help boost your immune system, and more.
Micronised creatine (dymatize); more energy during workout due to ATP regeneration, enhanced strength, reduce lactic acid and more.

3 times per days (breakfast and lunch)
T-Andro from ATP Laboratories (www.fbfitnessonlinestore.com) One of the most powerful formulas ever designed to quickly and significantly boost testosterone levels and the hormone’s efficiency Increases energy and strength

Before Bedtime
Melatonin for a faster and better recovery
